Open roundtables, events and bills
Citizen participation
The best public policies are not written alone. At the Centro de Impacto we run open roundtables where citizens, experts, organisations, companies and officials discuss concrete issues of technology, development and government. What comes out of each roundtable is published here, and what gains strength becomes a proposal.
Three ways to take part
Open roundtables
Themed debates with citizens, experts, organisations, companies and officials. Moderated and publicly recorded.
Events and presentations
Talks, launches and presentations of reports, cases and projects from the Centre and its network.
Bills
Legislative proposals written with input from citizens, from the first idea to their submission.
From debate to law
A roundtable doesn’t end when it adjourns. When a topic has consensus and technical backing, we turn it into a draft that goes through public consultation before reaching those who can submit it.
Propose the topic
Anyone can suggest a topic and gather support.
Open roundtable
A moderated debate with every voice at the table.
Collaborative draft
A base text, with precedents from elsewhere.
Public consultation
Open comments and a revised version.
Submission
To legislators and officials with the authority to act.
Follow-up
Public status of the bill, step by step.
The Centro de Impacto is not a political party and does not submit bills itself: it organises participation and provides technical support to those empowered to submit them.
